Indium OS vs Ailo: An Honest Comparison
Checked against Ailo’s published materials on 9 August 2026. Written by Indium OS — so read it with that in mind, and see the correction note at the end.
What Ailo is good at
- A genuinely modern take on the relationship side of property management: communication, tenant and owner experience, and workflows designed around outcomes rather than feature lists.
- Payments and disbursements happen instantly and automatically, including to trades — who, by Ailo's account, prioritise jobs from agencies that pay immediately.
- Strong community and industry-education presence, which matters more than software buyers usually admit.
Choose Ailo if…
- · Owner, tenant and trade experience is your competitive strategy, and you want a platform built around that thesis.
- · Instant payment to everyone — owners and trades — is a priority.
- · You are property management only, without sales-side AUSTRAC obligations to solve.
Choose Indium OS if…
- · You need AUSTRAC Tranche 2 compliance and the rent roll in one system before 1 July 2026.
- · You think about the rent roll as an asset to be valued, grown and eventually sold.
- · You want compliance evidence — records, audit trail, obligations calendar — as a first-class part of the product rather than an adjacent concern.
Side by side
| Ailo | Indium OS | |
|---|---|---|
| AUSTRAC Tranche 2 compliance for the sales side | No agency-facing AML/CTF module found in published materials | Full module: customer due diligence, PEP and sanctions screening, risk assessment, SMR/TTR workflow, program, training register and 7-year audit trail |
| Payments to owners and trades | Instant and automatic, including trade payments | ABA bank batch with a cleared-confirmation step; trades are dispatched and invoiced, paid by the agency as normal |
| Tenant and owner experience | Central to the product thesis — communication and relationship tooling throughout | Portals with rent-day preferences, quarterly all-clear notes, verified references, asset performance and tax packs |
| Rent roll valuation and due diligence | Not found in published materials | Live valuation with priced levers, plus a blind or identified due diligence pack |
| One record per property | Rent roll and compliance are separate systems | Tenancy, money and AUSTRAC obligation sit on the same property record |
Where we’d push back on ourselves
Ailo's focus on relationships and instant payments is a coherent, well-executed strategy — it simply answers a different question from the one Tranche 2 asks.
Where our two products overlap on tenant experience, we'd encourage you to look at both rather than take our word for it.
Statements about Ailocome from their public materials on the date above, and “not found in published materials” means exactly that — not that a capability doesn’t exist. If we’ve got something wrong, email sam@indiumos.com and we’ll correct this page.
